This painting is named after a friend who was obsessed with the color orange when we became acquainted. Her passion for orange rivaled mine for red. She delighted me because I had never met someone who had developed a relationship with color the way I do. Whole worlds are built around the things we love.
The style of this piece does not reflect Mali. She's pointier. The curves are mine, but the color is hers.
